Sutton St James Friend's Scheme
The Church of Sutton St James is here for all the people of the village, and has faithfully served the community for almost 170 years. The Church is always open for quiet prayer and reflection, and we seek to maintain the Churchyard as a peaceful place of rest and remembrance. The Vicarage, with its beautiful gardens, hosts events for the whole village during the year, including our Garden Party and celebration of St James’ Day each summer. It is also used regularly by the Scouts and Guides and is a wonderful and accessible asset for the community. Our Friends are those who cherish the place of the Church in our midst and wish to support her work. Money contributed by the Friends goes towards the care of the Church, the Churchyard, the Vicarage and for the benefit of the whole community.
Friends are invited to contribute by making a commitment to regular giving. Donations of any amount at any time are always welcome. Funds are administered by the Parochial Church Council (PCC) on behalf of the Church of Sutton St James. If you would like to help:-
● Please fill in the application form and standing order form - AVAILABLE IN CHURCH.
● If you are a UK taxpayer, please also complete a Gift Aid declaration. This enables the PCC
to reclaim tax on your donation, and significantly increases the funds available to us.
● Friends who donate in excess of £20.00 per year will receive a FREE copy of Parish News each month.
In addition there will be as number of specific 'friends' events during the year. Please return the completed forms to:
